Enrollment Data Support Specialist I

Job Summary: 

This position is responsible for the enrollment, disenrollment, and reconciliation process of various employee benefits and/or student health insurance accounts.   This work includes handling both manual and batch data- entry and enrolling members into an insurance claims processing system.  Conduct and offer customer service for members including answering phones, handling questions and assisting customers with any questions regarding the enrollment process. 

A key component of the report processing involves reconciliation through detailed review, researching, and resolving issues and variances arising during the enrollment process.  Responsible for printing ID cards and other operational tasks associated with enrollment including developing and maintaining database with accurate and up-to-date information, selecting and designing formats, creating reports, reviewing data for accuracy and completion, preparing, printing and distribution of ID cards.   Maintenance of files and associated spreadsheets is critical. 

This position works closely with Sales and Accounting departments as well as external members and customers, including Colleges or University Student Health Insurance Plans and Employee Benefit Plans.  The work performed by this position has a direct impact on the revenue generation of the company and level of customer satisfaction.   

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred) with at least one year of experience in the field or over two years of progressively responsible enrollment, customer service or related experience preferably within the health insurance industry.  Familiarity and proficiency in working with spreadsheet applications such as Excel, Access and other MS Office suite products.

  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Access database software

  • Ability to complete projects with both speed and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to handle constantly changing situations with ease; dealing with a variety of people and conflict resolution
